Nature Sensors publishes fundamental, applied, and engineering research across the full spectrum of sensing technologies, spanning biological, computational, engineering, and systems domains. The journal covers the development of novel sensor materials and devices, as well as the design, integration, and broader application of sensor systems. Emphasizing technological advancements in sensor design, materials, signal processing, and data analytics, Nature Sensors highlights the transformative societal impact of sensing technologies. The journal aims to bridge scientific research, engineering, and industry, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle complex challenges in areas such as healthcare, environmental monitoring, bio-integrated devices, automotive, civil infrastructure, and smart technologies.

The criteria for consideration of research in Nature Health are originality, timeliness and impact on health policy and practice. The journal publishes health research across the medical, social and environmental sciences and requires meaningful engagement with research participants and their communities, as mandated by the 2024 revision of the Declaration of Helsinki.  Nature Health prioritizes research conducted in resource-limited settings, including in low- and middle-income countries of the global south as well as in disadvantaged populations in high-income countries.  

Communications Sustainability

Communications Sustainability is an open-access journal from Nature Portfolio that publishes high-quality research, reviews and commentary in all sustainability-related areas of science. Our scope covers all research that investigates sustainability, its policy dimensions and possible solutions, from a broad range of natural, social and engineering angles. Sustainability research aims at understanding how to ensure the well-being of current and future generations within the limits of the natural world.   Primary research of interest to the journal includes important insights gained from fieldwork, novel analyses of existing data, numerical or analytical modelling or theoretical studies, and qualitative work. We encourage submissions that provide independent confirmation of particularly influential publications.
